by no means
does he fulfill his office
that by, default he but occupies
by his presence (or lack of it)
he obstructs
much the same as the troops sent to Iraq
do not deliver freedom, justice
they, too, obstruct

Both George and the Troops are a road-block
to progress
an unfortunate detour
as both are "old-school"...
tied to a way of thinking rooted in the past
whereas, the future lies with our ability
to break with the tyranny the past imposes
to recognize that the neo-cons are the dinosaurs of politics-past

The Promise of Freedom lies dormant
indeed, is endangered
for security is not enhanced by the "pre-emptive strike"
"he who strikes first"
but resides with those who are left standing
when all is said and done
WE must create a departure point anew
and to that end we are in debt
to George W....

for he has given us the stark opportunity
to break with the cycle of evil
that would re-create itself endlessly
by his convincing and complete portrayl
of an empty-headed moron

Impeach the bum!

Today, I saw a friend of mine
from my homeless days
he worked at the salvation army
assigning beds, sheets and towels
one nite,
I complained to him
somebody stole my sheet
he replied
"thats on you"
thats the last nite
ever i slept without a sheet
but today i saw my friend
in a wheelchair
minus a foot
we looked into each others eyes
with recognition
as i walked-by
i draped my "sheet"
over his shoulders--
the oppressed never forget
